MOUNT MEADOWS

Frank and Dot Green of the former Mount Meadows Jersey Stud, to encourage the 18-45 year age group of our Members, donated the Trophy; following are the rules to enter this competition.

RULES:

All participants, must be either a Limited or Senior financial Member of the Purebred Jersey Breed Society. 

The pointing system is as follows:

Herd type and condition of animals 30
Buildings and surrounds     20
Condition of fences and gates  10
Plant and machinery 10
Pasture at home and run-off  10
Knowledge of herd  10
General 10
Total possible points  100

 

Once a Member has won this trophy they are able to enter again after a three-year stand down.

BOOMERANG TROPHY (OPEN TO ALL JUNIOR MEMBERS 5-18 YEARS)

This Trophy was donated to the Purebred Jersey Breed Society by Ivan and Lorraine Wright of the former Boomerang Jersey Stud to encourage all Juniors in the Show ring area. 

RULES: 

  1. Juniors 5 yrs to 18 yrs on the 1 April each year and to be Junior Financial Members of the Purebred Jersey Breed Society 
  2. All animals must be registered with the Purebred Jersey Breed Society prior to the first show. 
  3. All animals must be owned or leased through the Purebred Jersey Breed Society by the Junior Member. 
  4. Juniors will be required to nominate and name one animal per show season with the Secretary to participate in the trophy. A substitute animal will be allowed should the nominated animal become sick or lame, a veterarian certificate will be required. 
  5. uniors can enter in three (3) classes per show in their own area. Classes that may be entered are: Junior Members Classes, Open Classes, All Breeds Classes. 
  6. Qualifying Shows set by the Directors are as follows: Lower Sth Island - Invercargill, Winton, Gore. Mid Sth Island: Christchurch, Leeston, Rangioara. Upper Sth Island: Nelson, Rai Valley, Marlborough. Lwr Nth Island: Palmerston North, Levin, Feilding. Taranaki: Hawera, Stratford, Taranaki Purebred Show. Waikato: Cambridge, Waikato, Waikato Purebred Show. Auckland: Franklin, Clevaden, Kumeu. 

If Juniors cannot for whatever reason attend one of the above mentioned shows, one other show in the same area may be attended. No more than three shows per show season and no more than three classes per show may be included for points for the Boomerang Trophy. 

In the event of a tie, the animal with the most Championships, Reserves, 1st prizes will be the procedure used to decide a winner. Final decision will be that of the Junior Member Co-Ordinator. All entries to be sent to the Junior Co-Ordinator Malcolm Muggeridge Cornwall Road R.D. 23, Stratford

Open to any financial junior member between the ages of 12-21 years.
Nominate 3 shows in any province of your choice.
Send entries to Office prior to show season.
Age as at 1st Feb current show season
